Refund and Cancellation Policy
Separate rules for people paying for our software and for students buying courses.
Draft version
Draft for legal review. This policy has been prepared as a draft and has not yet been approved by a solicitor. Some company details may still be missing.
1. Two different relationships - **A. SaaS customers** pay learn.co.uk for software packages. That contract is with us. - **B. Course purchasers** buy courses from independent Creators. That contract is with the Creator who sells the course, not with us.
A. SaaS customers (Creator packages)
Cancelling your subscription You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the period already paid.
Consumer cancellation rights If you subscribe as a consumer (not for business), you normally have 14 days from the start of the contract to cancel. If you ask us to start the service during that period and then cancel, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the point you told us you were cancelling. Logging in or accessing the Platform does not by itself remove your right to cancel.
Most Creators subscribe for business purposes. Business customers do not have the statutory 14-day right, but still have the remedies set out below.
Statutory remedies If our service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, or does not match what we described, you may be entitled to have us put it right or to a price reduction or refund, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for consumers) or the general law (for businesses).
No discretionary guarantee Beyond the rights above, we do not offer a money-back guarantee.
How to request a refund Email ⟦not yet provided⟧ with your academy name and the reason. We will reply within 10 working days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
B. Course purchasers (Students)
Who you are buying from The course seller is the academy named on the course page and invoice. Refund requests should go to that academy first.
Digital content rights If you buy a course as a consumer, you usually have 14 days to cancel. Where you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the digital content is supplied, that right may end when you start accessing the course. The academy must explain this clearly before you buy. Your rights if the course is faulty, not as described or not provided with reasonable care and skill remain in place.
Our role We provide the software the academy uses. If an academy does not respond, contact ⟦not yet provided⟧ and we will try to help, but we cannot decide refunds on an academy's behalf except where the law or our agreement with the academy allows.
