1. What cookies and similar technologies are Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include browser "local storage" and "session storage". This policy covers all of them.
2. What we use today We reviewed the technologies actually deployed on learn.co.uk. At the time of writing we only use storage that is **strictly necessary**: - **Sign-in session** (browser local storage, set by our authentication service) — keeps you logged in. Lasts until you log out or the session expires. - **Basket** (local storage) — remembers courses you have added to a basket. - **Sign-up security code** (session storage) — links your payment to your new account during checkout. Removed when you close the tab. - **Unsaved AI drafts** (local storage) — keeps AI-generated questions on your own computer until you save them. - **Cookie choices** (local storage) — remembers the choices you make in our cookie banner. - **Payment provider** — Stripe sets its own cookies on the secure checkout to prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie policy.
3. Functional, analytics and marketing cookies We do not currently use functional, analytics or marketing cookies. If we add any, we will update this policy and will not switch them on until you agree.
4. Your choices Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer at any time to accept, reject or manage optional categories. Rejecting optional cookies does not affect the strictly necessary storage listed above, because the Platform cannot work without it. You can also clear storage through your browser settings.
5. Academy pages Academies hosted on learn.co.uk use the same technologies listed above.
